St Johns River run.....

I have been itching to get over to the St Johns river. Anyone up for a run anytime soon? Sanford, Astor, or Palatka, I don't care...... Lets put something together. :cheers::thumbsup:

We went down in Dec. for the toys for tots run from Palatka to Welaka and there were crab pots everywhere. I think there were more in the channel than anywhere else. One guy on an blue STV, I think, lost his lower from one. Be careful...

Palatka , to The Glen , is always a nice run . Uhfortunatly I'm down for a while . Sanford South it a good time also . So either would be fine .
I've run up on the north end of the river , for many years , and the Crap Traps , are always out in the channel . They have only been a problem when idleing in reverse . Inot saying it can't happen . Butt I don't see how one coult tear off a lower unit . olny thing on the serface is a foam ball tied to a rope . Now if up wind one up to the boat there attached to the trap with cable or chain . But I have only seen this done once , and it was done with an inboard . My outboards , also stall as soon as the rope get in the prop .Funny , my worst experiance with them I was sitting next to a blue STV .

I would like to get back to the St. Johns, been a long time since I was there. I've run between Palatka and Astor it's a nice river to run on. Did the Blingmaster run years back in my vking.

Maybe we should do a "Bling at the Glen" weekend. Just show up on a specific weekend -stay/ go where you want and meet at the Glen mid-day.

Can't beat the Moorings as race headquarters . Ramp , restaurant , pool fuel all right there and the owner Ian is a great guy . Big parking lot for bench racing !

We ran the St Marys today on the PWCs and it was beautiful except a scolding from a Marine Patrol. I would like a run soon from Palaka to Silver Glenn, but I can't handle Lake George south to Sanford due to all the manatee zones and speed limits.

JR , We don't do Goerge to Sanford . We do Sanford To Geneva . That would be Monroe to Harney , if your looking on a chart .

Well, it sounds like the 7th will work for most of us. I am cool with palatka however, Sanford is a little easier drive for all of our south florida friends. Any suggestions????? Lets get this run firmed up and I will make another post....:cheers::cheers:

Rich Martin 018I really like putting in at DeBarry as long as I don't have to park under that tree to the left of the ramp that drips sap all over your upholstery. We might go this Saturday, the next Saturday we have a wedding to go to. How high is the water right now?

JR , I use the down town Sanford ramp , on Lake Monroe . 5 slips , and plenty of parking . Stay on I 4 , till you cross the river . Exit , the very fist ramp , still on the bridge . Stay right , an follow the shore line , straight into down town . From there , head east on the river . It's a nice little run .
