I have an '02 Gambler (20' 7"). The right (driver side) flap does not extend all the way. The jack plate, tilt and trim all work. The left flap extends all the way. It sounds like the gears are gone in the right flap push rod assembly. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Thanks.....

I have an older Gambler for which I built trim tabs (see my profile pics), and have done some research on this. I believe Gambler uses Lenco actuators (your "push rod"). You can buy them individually online. Lenco makes different lengths, and if I remember, Gambler uses the "short" actuator. The Lenco web site has all the specs on their actuators, so you'd have to measure. Hope this helps. Keith.

Just call Gambler...I have been at their plant many times and have seen them repair customer boats while there.

Whenever I have called Gambler unless I wanted to buy a new boat they had very little time to talk to me, I think there was/is a Nils I spoke to and a Bob, both were next to useless in getting me or giving me any information on my gambler which is no longer in production. Good luck to you though and I hope your outcome is good!!

Thanks, Chris. Think Sterling is now the manufacture of the Gambler. I have contacted a couple of boat parts distributors about the trim tab actuator. Hopefully one of them will have some information. Will post what I find out.......

if it is a LENCO system then call the manufacture and they can either sell you the part or give you the correct part number to look online for yourself.

I agree that Bob (owner) and Nils (son) can be hard to chase down. Talk to this guy:
Michael Price--Product Specialist--352-429-8888
Maybe he can help.
Really, the times I have been at Gambler (Sterling now...actually the company is called American Marine Sports) and have been left standing around for a bit while Bob and/or Nils takes care of some other business, I am always seeing a customer's older hull being worked on. I was there personally watching two different times when they did the work for free, even though the boat was not even close to being in warranty. I am convinced they didn't do this because I was there...they did it while I was on my phone, in the background, I'm not even sure they knew where I was at the moment.
They are a bit scatterbrained sometimes in getting back to me, but they always do, and they seem like pretty good guys. I've spoken with many of their customers and have never had anyone tell me anything bad.

I guess hearing that restores my faith in them a little. I got blasted off the boards on Bassboatcentral for complaining about my cap to hull fit ( which is terrible ) The admin of the board was /is a Sterling boat owner and he would not stand for it. I really like the look of my Gambler (Stallion/ SuperSport ) just whish it wasn't so damn heavy and that the cap fit a little better.

Talked to Michael Price at Gambler.....Super nice guy. Said to call with any questions. Ordered two actuators. Just a few bucks higher than Lenco, but worth dealing with Michael. Will be glad to get these replaced and back running....... Thanks for all of the help.
