225 Promax water pump quit working

I have a 1996 225 promax with a cle lower unit that won't pump water. I replaced the impeller but it still won't pump water. I know I have a restriction in the lower unit, but can't find it. any help would be apprecitated.

Pull the base out of the housing and make sure no impeller is lodged. Good advice is to go ur nearest merc dealer and but the complete kit and install it. When they get hot they get out of shape and new is the only way. Also if its on the hose, take it to the lake and back it in and make sure the water line is above the pump and try it.

Thanks Jay, I got it fixed today. It seemed that the new impeller was not turning inside the housing. I tore it down and put it back together this morning and it is working fine on the hose now.
