I've had that one vid saved, had to send to my MercGuru...that I posted, but when I saw the other vid, just had to post this one! Funny thing is, found that looking for some Force info on overheat "Thermoswitch", as my dogs boat is a 88 125 Force, Bayliner 20 foot Cuddy. Boat runs salt, did the known issues, upgraded electrical..(Stator, related)..snapped the one piece D/S, salted out where it tapers into the C/S, fixed, and the old girl is a real work horse. Not bad for 23 years! Its all in maintenance, where a lot of good, gets a bad name, from the stupid clueless.
I have another vid, same motor, with another idiot..(at one time, there was 3 same boats my block, and 6 total in the marina, and all said "its so hard to start!" DUMBCHIT..NOT ONE, knew that ya have to pull the gearshift OUT, and then a high idle, out of gear! And almost all need a choke hit, even warm, on a restart. Let me find one more vid, show ya want meant..(least he did muffs!)

Heres another vid, at least a hosed start, 125 Force, same boat mine, but it wont fire until 44 seconds in, when ya finally hear the choke.."click". Dumbazz. And bet it was not in a pulled throttle, high idle, as starts normal R's. Mine, done right? Fires, and drop it back fast, as will run 2000 RPM easy. Then ya see him adjust the muffs, looking up at the twin exhaust ports, DSH, waiting for the water out. Lots of boat motors get a bad rap, but its mostly, the idiot with the key, the major problem!
