Starcraft Carlson info

Just bought this Starcraft CPS15. Anyone know anything about it. A plate on the boat says designed by Carlson, title says 1985. How uncommon is it, how long was it made, anyone seen one on the water.230848

I picked one up just like it same color, 1986, no power yet. I have a 1982 90 hp merc going on it. With no pad, i'm thinking it should be solid in the water, but not really fast. I had tried it with a 50 hp and it was a dog. Still looking for someone with setup experiance for it.

You guys must live in a different world, a 15 foot boat with a 50 on it should not be a dog. Yea a 90 will be better but a 50 with the right prop should be pleasant. Mine has a 80 Merc and it does more than enough, of course I,m old as a rock LOL

i had a CPS17 back in the 80's, 120 Johnson, would run 58. my buddy had the 20 with a V8. never would perform like ya woulda thought. starcraft really bungled the production end of pretty cool looking boats!

My CPS15 is in pretty nice original condition, can’t decide if it’s worth keeping it stock or to custom paint it. I’m in the trade. So far the only thing I’m working on is adding power trim to the old Merc. Maybe a Jack Plate while I’m at it this winter.
