Optimax 250/300xs Issues
Of those of you who own OPTIMAX 250xs or 300xs motors, how many of you have had issues with them ? And what were those issues:
Electrical or Mechanical ?
Warranty or Out of Warranty

2006 model year 1 gearcase at 15 hrs, 1 coil at 136 hrs and 1 air comp at 151 hrs. i total 163hrs now motor is as strong now as day one. compression was checked saturday 145-150 each cyl. i have always used 93octane and quicklean in every tank. This motor will be drag raced this year in dsra i have been seeing 7200 rpm in 660 ft. i have seen 7800 in 1/4 mile. if it stands up a hole season it will say alot for a "stock motor"

2003 250XS needs hi octane fuel ,replaced one air injector, had constant problems with the sporty gearcase none with the replacement fish motor case (1 mph faster w/fleetmaster) Now at 385 hrs I have fuel pump issues,3 sets in 2 months the mechanic is blaming the fuel

My 2007 300xs had a coil that shorted internally and blew the fuse. I now have 68hours and been good so far. I do have some slight 2cycle oil dampness around the air pump... not sure if it's normal or not, going to look closer this weekend.
