Alien cowls??

How can you tell a factory Alien cowl from an after market?

Factory aliens are plastic, aftermarkets are fiberglass or carbon fiber.

In a picture, however, the easist way to tell is the latch system used. Aftermarkets will use bungies to hold the cowl down...factory aliens use a swiveling latch on the rear of the cowl.

Factory aliens also have an interior baffle that directs airflow to the front of the cowl.

If it hasn't been cut out to save on weight. I've had two that have had the baffle removed.

No kiddin...that lil plastic baffle can't weigh much more than a pound. Haven't seen that before...
