one of the holes on my 225 promax reed cage is stripped. Is an end one. Safe to JB weld it up and re-tap? Worried if the JB lets go it will go with the screw........not good

First choice buy another cage.
Second choice, tap the hole next size up. Fill with JB and retap for correct size.

Buy another cage. Might not be near as expensive in tha long run. Just not a good place for JB Weld no mater how good ya think that stuff is...........JMO

Buy anuther cage!!!.....I tried a insert to repair tha stripp'd threads, but once ya drill tha cage for tha insert, tha cage iz TOO THIN to hold tha insert without crack'in......Pay me now or pay me later, and in this case, later iz way more troublesum, and exspensive!!...JMO

Taking a chance on an engine failure trying to save $50.00 on a nice used cage don't add up...

Thanks for the feedback guys. The goal wasn't to try and save money or cheap out. I was just researching what the guys who do this everyday do.
I'll look for a cage.

I just checked and I have some cages in excellent shape (some used some new). I have some uncut (stock 7 peddal and some cut (modified) 7's.
Drop me a pm and I'll see if we can work something out so you won't feel like you are taking it in the shorts.
