What an Exciting day !!!!

we where plannin a family day on the lake since we are having a
nice weekend of warm weather ( 65 ) but the wind made us
change the plans quick :mad:

So we all jumped in the car and headed for one of my favorite
streams to fly fish for King Salmon and Brown Trout.

Well about halway into our journey " pow " !!!! thump thump .
We get a flat tire on the back of the car .... No big deal !!! pull
into the next parking lot off the highway and I break out the
jack and spare . I made sure I shut off the " Air Ride Control "
( Lincoln Continental ) and just gettin the jack under the car and " BOOM " !!!!!!!! Sounded like a bomb went off !!!!!

One of the front air suspension struts decides to explode !!!:rolleyes:

Scared the heck out of the boys !!!! So I get the donut spare on
and down the road we go ..... Very bumpy ride too !!!

Made it to the stream and had a blast fighting some 25 lb +
Salmon on the Fly Rod !!!!

All in all it was a great " Family Day " :)

What was the biggest one the boys caught? Man, you give me goose bumps thinking back to when I was a kid and having to walk up the bank with rod in hand because they were so big.

And I love fish. Caught these Red Snapper last time I went out in the Gulf. Also caught some Reds in the marsh.:)

Going back to Lake Charles this weekend. I hear they are catching the heck out out of Red fish on the weeres near Calcasieu Lake. The only thing better that catching fish is eating them!!!!:D

I'm addicted so bad that I had to take the summer off from it :eek:

Wifey got tired of trollin around for hours !!! Said it's boring !!!
Not me I can fish from sun up to sundown ..... Except if I forget
to eat and drink to many brewskies :D

FC the last time I was in Texas we went out for " Reds " and
what a fun day that was !!!!! They where one of the best tastin fish I ever had.

they sell a strut & spring assembly to delete the air ride
but it is big $ i think around a grand for the parts

Uhhhh Ummmmm !!!!!!! Thats a good question ...... :D

As for the spring strut assembly .... ordered it yesterday !!!!!
Was pricey but beats the hell out of wondering when the next
air struts gonna blow ;)

I was figuring way over a grand !!!!! But guess I got lucky ....

To replace with the air struts would of been $ 2000 easy :rolleyes:
