I am Thinking of switching from a 200 PM to a 300xs on my 20ft Hydrostream Vantage? I was wondering what I should expect from the weight gain and If I should shorten the length of the jack plate from 12 to 6 inches? I think the weight will be in the 125lb range between the the two engines...the boat is solid and the transom has been beefed up. Thanks, how would you guess the handling would change? ....

Search under set up, there was a post a while back about 300's on 20 XT hulls. From what I read it worked fine. Just send the 200 PM to me when you don't need it any more.

we rigged a voyager a year or so ago with a 225 proxs he has a 6" cmc. customer was very happy with the overall pkg. smooth idle, quick starts and great on fuel. with a 300xs it would be that much better.. go for it.

Thanks for the info, I am going to do the 250 or 300xs, which ever one I can find a deal on first.....Should be just the right motor for the 20 ft stream.
