Hi!

Back in time I had a PM 300 (not X), and I wonder what kind of dyno results people got with this engine? I have done some search, and I find propshaft horsepower around 285. Is that the common figure for the non X model?

I had two powerheads on my PM 300, the first one to be stronger than the second one. Approx 200 rpms. So there are ofcourse variances between the powerheads.

I see from EPA that Yamaha 300 pulls 276 HP on the propshaft. A Verado 300 pulls 297 HP according to EPA. 300 Optimax or Promax is not stated. 250 XS pulls 247 HP. 350 sci is not yet listed, however, rumous says it pulls in excess of 350 HP.

Cheeers and thanks!

Toffen, I had a pair of '98 300 PM motors first than put a pair of '03 300X gained 9MPH on GPS on my heavy '73 MAGNUM SEDAN, 71 to 80. "HIGH LIFE"

Toffen, where did you find the epa horsepower rating for the new emission complaint outboards. I think that would make for some interesting discussions on the board.

Different revlimiters between the pm and the X. Wondering if the pm reved to the X limit if there would still be that much difference? My pm with no revlimiter turned a 27srx over 7k and was still climbing until I let off for rear of hurting the motor.

Santafe, the 300PM reved to 6,200RPM , after installing the 300X's AND reworking the props ( Hydromotive 24" 4-blade ) the 300X want to 6,800 RPM... Redline. Very happy with this set up... 80 GPS. Guido
