Cutting the Can

What are the pro's and con's of cutting the exhaust can on a Yamaha V6? I'm looking for a little deeper tone, without full relief holes in the side of my LU.

I cut mine years ago...the only pro is the sound, it is different but not overbaring. No cons that I can see. I've heard that it hurts bottom end but my boat's light enough not to notice.

Personaly I felt it allowed it to rev a bit faster out of the hole when I cut my yammie's.If you dont have a excel tuner,throw one in there while you got it apart as well.
