Anyone ever used window tint on lexan? I am thinking about putting darker tint on my windshield which is lexan but I have been told that lexan produces some type gas and could cause damage to the lexan or bubbles if tinted. Anyone got any thoughts or experience on this before I screw up AGAIN! Jimmy
can you just take it apart and cut new lexan?

I was told by the local glass shop that tint wouldnt stick to it good. He suggested I paint my windshield if I wanted it dark.

Instead of using tint material... Maybe just thin dn. some black paint so that it is transparent. Put on as many coats as it takes to get the windshield dark enuf. Just a thought.... Test an hidden area to see if it works before doing the whole thing....I hate tent film as it will always eventually fail..

Ive never heard of chemical irritation with lexan and tint ...
But you could avoid all risk ie blackpaint and thinner and tint by calling around to local tint shops and asking if they do smoked lights >headlight and tail light tinting< They actaully use a special material kinda like paint to give the plastic a smoked ''tint'' look.

I talked to two diffrent tint shops about the same thing they both said it wont stay and will etch the lexan.I had black vinal put over mine but the is no transparentsy.I look over the top anyway. The vinal will remove easy if you want to go back.
