Hi All.

This is my first post :)

I have a 13.5 Foot Shakespear Sporstman with 130Hp Yamaha V4, And hydraulik steering and Detwiler elevator.

The boat weight is 150Kilo and the engine 168kilo.

I have a 24" Quicksilver Chopper prop, right now and the topspeed is now 54.7 knots 101.8km/h ( then the boat starts chinewalking, the engine is on 5800RPm there, and it should take 6000rpm, but I cant "hold" it.

Is there a resapee to steer it out of the chinewalking or do i need another prop? Witch one?

Thanks.

I have the same engine. Clip the wire for the rev limiter and turn that engine to about 6300rpm. It runs out of power after that. I have turned mine to 7000 RPM and have run it for long runs at 6400 rpm. It will be fine.

Does the boat have a pad? If not, it will be a handful. Seat time is often the key with chinewalking. You could search here to learn more about it. Raising the engine often helps, but be careful with water pressure and temperature. Solid mounts and a foot throttle would be good.

Where is the wire to the rev limiter?

What is a Pad?

Alle the weight in the boat is in central. Battery, tank. 2seats wright placed. ( Always sail with 2 when i try topspeed )

I have waterpressure gauge.

Here is some pictures of the project :)

you have a pad on the bottom of your boat and might i say verrrry nice man!!! but a pad is a flat surface on the bottom of the boat aroung 5-7 inches wide the i dea is to get the boat runing on the pad for less resistance and faster speed...theres a better definition out there hopefully someone else can chirp in... very nice boat though

There is a wire attached at the ignition box under the black plastic cover on the back of the motor. If you clip it, the rev limiter is disabled. I will look and see what color it is. Pink I think.....

Aha, thanks. I will try to search more about the wire and a Pad. Maybe i could laminat one in Carbon fiber. On Friday my 24" Chopper prop will be elektropolished :)

We had the boat startet up for the first time in 2011 today, its was freesing temprature -0.5 and still ICE on the ocean.

Aha! Thanks for Pics! Instead of a long pad, could I build one 40cm long or 60cm and 30cm wide, as you see in the picture its only the rear end in water when the speed reaches over 35knots :) a pad in carbon could be a good idea I think;)

It looks like a lot of setback for a 13' 330 lb boat. That might make it harder to drive.

I was thinking the same thing. It might work better with less setback.

The wire is the gray wire coming out of the bottom of the ignition module on the right side. It is a loop. Cut the loop.
If you cant figure it out I can take a picture. Its the only gray wire and it does not go into the harness with the connector.
