Back in the eighties, I owned a CVX 20 Sprint Outboard , apricot metalflake and I had 235 Evinrude mounted to the transom. Top speed was 70 mph. The boat handled great. To this very day, I have never seen another CVX 20 Outboard. My wife and I loved that boat, I ran a Turbo prop. Bob.

I'm running one right now that came with a 1500 TOP Merc.Pretty slow with the 150,so I'm looking to get rid of the TOP and a 150 V6 I have to get a 200.

P.S.I thought these were rated for a 200 max.

First time I took mine out on a local lake(10 mins. away) I passed one the same colour as the one you had with a 200 BMax on it.Seemed kind of funny because I'd never seen or heard of one of these boats until I found mine and wasn't on the water 10 mins. when we passed it.

CVX20 Sprint You are correct they are rated for 200 hp, I bought mine new and it had a 200hp Johnson on it, but I wanted to scream& fly and at the time the 235 was the most hp available to me! Good luck with yours and post a picture if you will. Bob.

I recently sold my CVX-20 76 model with a OMC 225HO. I ran a 26 cleaver. Not sure of the brand, I think it was an OMC. Anyways, I saw 71 once on a Texas river early one morning last summer, then I never did see it again...mostly 69-70.

thanks alot for your info guys i have a 10 inch manual set-back jack plate and im currently running a 200 e-tec i have not seemed to found the right prop nor engine height as yet. The most speed ive seen so far is like 62 with a 26 4blade trophy @ 4700 rpms the engine just wont seem to spin the prop any faster, but since then ive lifted the engine up about 2 inches and i have a 22 pitched chopper that im hoping will do the trick for me. any additinal info will come in handy thanks
