Anyone know a good setup for a 1990 1750DC hydrasport?I am running a 1990 150 evinrude and have problems with prop slippage. It runs 5500 to 6000 depending on trim but only runs 49mph with an OMC SS2 23 pitch. The hub on the prop is good but with the stepped transom is seems to have a lot of slippage? The boat seems to have the motor at the right height in the second hole.Ive never had this happen before, any ideas?

if you don't have enough setback you maybe having to run too much trim resulting in excessive slippage. how much setback do you have?

I think the built in setback is about 8".I really cant go to a jack plate because of too much weight on the transom,I dont have any freeboard to spare.I use the boat in conditions where sometimes the waves are almost coming over the transom and the self bailing cockpit would not work if I added the extra weight.I was wondering about what prop might "hold the water "better.I bought a 22p raker to try.Can you think of a better prop that would slip less?I have narrowed it down, What do you think.22p raker,Saltwater renagade22p,Omc SRX 24p.?Also if I use a thru hub exhaust prop would you go up or down with the engine.Thanks...Dan(Or I could just sell this thing and get a real boat...)

hydra sport center console fishing boat? you could try to set it up for speed but i think your getting the best your gonna get with that engine,a little tweaking of the set up will be a minor help. either get a fast hull or be happy with what your getting from it. i think that a very respectable speed with that kinda hull and a 150.
