it's when they stopped using them.. I think 95-96 sometime ??

According to th Pro catalog. They show a different gear set fot the 97-up and serial OG438000-up with a different forward bearing than the 96-back. Hope this helps!:thumbsup:

James is correct 647-9147C2,3,4which is 1997 and later are the non ratcheting cases with small forward bearing and 1647-9147C1, C and just plain 9147 which is 1996 and backwards to 1986 or mid 1985 are all big bearing same forward bearing as Sporty, CLE ,Torqmaster
