Etec 250HO vs Etec 300

Which one would you pick and why?

250 H.O. Same powerhead, but the 250 has the Lightning 1:71 high speed gearcase. The 300 only offers the 1:85 Magnum which is a larger beefier gearcase. Another thing is Evinrude doesnt offer a Blue 20" 300. You thinking of running a pair on one of your amazing toons?

The lightning unit will not be on 2011 model 250HOs and was not available in counter rotation. Yes the powerhead is the same but the fuel mapping is different, about 25 HP

Not a bad idea. My friends single 300hp Etec is running great on his Xtreme. They are great motors.

Yes, racer brought up another great point if running twins about the 250ho not offering counter rotation.
