I have a trim assembly from a 1988 220hp motor that is not working. It is the type that has the pump outside the boat and has two rams.
I have heard you can have them rebuilt. If so who does this work?
If not where would I find a replacement?

Thanks

I had a trim pump rebuilt by Buck's Electric in Texarkana.

What 's it doing or not doing? That is a 3 wire cartridge type pump and motor. I bought 1 off of E-bay that has the newer style motor and pump and 2 wire motor with relays for $180.00 and it works good.

What a fiasco I had this summer trying to repair mine myself
Rebuilt it 3 times!!*(#(!@*#@^$@
new everything, Dirt must be inside the pump itself
As I replaced the Pressure reliefs and thermal reliefs
Merc Hi Perf has different internals than aftermarket

still leaks down, but holds if I blip the down side

weird

Brabender, I'm talking about the 3 ram system with the square Eaton motor. If your pump cartridge has a teeter totter valve, do a search on here with teeter totter and read the posts as there ar alot of them. I've fixed 2 of these the past 2 months.

On mine The motor will run but will hardly move the motor. You can pull the motor up by hand.
I have bought one from here on the forum, but would like to fix this one.

Make sure the relief valve screw is tight
