if its a 2pice plate no find a set of 2.5 plates (my opinion ) if your talking a 1pice 2.4 plate on a steel bore 2.5 motor then yes it can be done with some water mods

No, They will not work. The bolt patterns are different and there is a width difference. I am almost 100% sure the 2.5 is wider.

No problem. Just a question or are you needing a plate?? There are a couple of variations of the 2.5 plate as well.

Here is a pic (sorry a bad one) of the 2.5L that I installed OMC coils on. They are working out great so far and cost 1/2 of a set of merc coils.

If you look these are double coils so you have $33.95 X 3 coils versus $29.79 X 6 coils. These are Pro Marines price. So almost 1/2 price not exactly:D We all know what problems the merc coils have with the magnets cracking and this will generate multiple magnetic fields lowering output voltage. I had a customer that had 5 coils with cracked magnets. We replaced them and done nothing else and he picked up 400 RPMs! This is as per the customer not me. Just my .02!
