COLUMBUS GA HELP getting relocated

My wife is being transfered to Columbus GA. She is an air traffic controller and will be working at columbus airport. Please we need to know anything about the area I have a 2 1/2 year old and a newborn. Looking for the best area to live in and raise a family. Where to stay away from?? thank you any info is greatly appreciated Chris
