I agree that he is lucky to be alive but that was no more than a learnig bump. How many times have we all came close. He just wasn't too lucky that day and I am sure he has a different outlook on high performance boating..

I have seen that video about 10 times but never really stopped to look at it. I see one major thing I would have done that im sure would have prevented that. After hitting that first wave and getting a bit loose there I would have gotten out of it and settled the boat down but it looked like he didnt even slow down one bit and just stayed right in it. Must have had a hand throttle and couldn't get a hold of it fast enough maybe. I don't know. One reason I love a foot throttle. When in doubt, just lift that foot.

And the second thing I would never do is cross a wake going that fast at all. And never behind a boat like that. That just had disaster written all over it.

Ditto! Hitting a wake that is parallel to the heading of the boat is going to upset the balance immediately. Even worse if it is a pad bottom. He really appeared to lose control after encountering the initial wake and was just along for the ride thereafter. To make thinks worse, most bass boat seats are poorly designed for high speed driving and security.
