Well I finally got to use my second Nordskog Digital GPS speedometer. The first one was replaced under warranty because several functions didn't work properly. This one is even worse than the first one was. The speedo lags way behind my little portable Garmin E Trex. You would have to run at a constant speed for a long period of time for this speedo to "catch up" and register the real speed. Like maybe 2 miles. For short distance drag racing it is totally useless!! I had ordered the optional receiver sold by Nordskog. It is a unit made by Garmin. I'm sure the speedo head unit is where the problem is. The tac mode reads 3000 rpm higher than my Merc tac. The recall functions don't work, and the volt/compass modes work only now and then. Has anyone had any luck with this unit? It is made by Intellitronix (spell?) who merged with Nordskog. As far as my experience goes, the unit is JUNK!! I'll stick with the little E Trex anyday. Richard

Very nice analog sweeping hands, reciever is mounted right in front of steering wheel.

Very accurate in the moment, no lag.

Pretty expensive, not portable, but you have reality 100% of the time.

Made by Garmin also.

Recall does erase.

The same article said that Nordskog is close to releasing a GPS speedo with the receiver mounted to the back of the (under the dash) gauge.
Too bad about your bad luck Richard. I've got a regular pitot meter from Nordskog and it reads spot on with my GPS!

You can try and take the NEMA output out of your hand held GPS if you have one (the NEMA output that is) If you do you can hook that up to either the Gaffrig or Nordskog guage and it will read the same as your trusty hand held. Just a thought.
