View Full Version : Anyway to align Torflex Style Axle for Caster/Camber?

I have a single axle trailer with a Torflex style axle. I have a toe-out and also camber issue burning off the inside portion of (oddly) one tire. The toe out is visible and measureable with a tape measure.
Is there any way to have this corrected? The main axle tube looks straight, however I assume the dog legs (90 degree swing arms and axle stubs) are bent.

Depending on the age of the axle, it could either be just worn out, bent, or if a new axle, misaligned from the factory. A good alignment shop can bend the tube to align it, but it's risky.

Yep, kinda came to that conclusion myself. Turns out a new axle (with hubs) is only ~ $200.00 I am headed that way in the spring.
Thanks for the reply.

That's the route I'd go, I had an axle staightened awhile back, the spindle was bent and they bend the middle tube to get it back aligned, after time it started to go back so I just put in a new axle

Is the spindle bolted to the arm?

I wish it was, but is it welded.

you should be able to find a body shop with an alignment rack.

Here is how you fix it.
Replace it with a leaf spring axle.
