Did the carbed brideport ever come with 7 petal reeds? It seems like i remember seeing that they came both 5 and 7 petal, but mercruiserparts.com shows only the 5 petal for the carbed bridegport. with the exception of the sst-120 which shows the 4 petal i believe?
I'm currently putting 5 petal manifold with wh-46 carbs. It looks like my jetting should be in the .094 range. Any experience with these carbs on a bridgeport? thanks, Sean

4 petal and 5 petal are the same front 1/2's and intakes are the same. Only the cages are different.

The WH-46 that came on the bridgeport is different from the ones found on a fishing motor. The BP 46's have slosh plate and addition tube externally going to the idle mix plate on top. The BP has about .050 higher exhaust porting than 200 which the fishing WH-46 carbs come on with 80's and 82's jet. Going to 94's will probably have it rich. It is easier to drop jet sizes than change a piston though. I raise porting all the time on Mercs and OMC's and rarely do I have more than a .006 or .008 increase in jetting on a heavily ported engine. I raise 3L OMC's exhaust .090 with a .006 jet increase. So many factors come into play when trying to figure out jetting. Just my .02 worth.

There was one that I know of. Might have been an Oval port? Don't remember for sure. Think it was refered to as a Formula motor. Only place it was ever seen was on tha truck as I understand it. I've still got tha front half and reed plate for it...............

Has always been my understanding was 5 petal = carb, 7 petal = EFI .

I haven't a clue where to find that one. I deal with mostly fishing engines. Maybe Jay, Noah, or John would know. It may be like the 300HP XR2 that is across the pond!

Yea, according to the part #'s and pics the carbed motors were all 5 petal. I was just curious if it may have been a misprint?

Now that I think about it a little more it might have been a 2.0 BP (not a very common on tha market motor). Like a '91 model maybe?.........

Like a '91 model maybe?.........Maybe your's was a "back door" race motor right off the truck??? The two I have here don't have date stamps on the blocks so I have no clue when these were built. One has all the hoses like yours.
