I am in the process of refinishing a boat and am wondering the best process of repairing some stress cracks.

Grind them down to the glass, put a small piece of finishing cloth over them, fair them back in. If there not glassed they will pobably come back.

i perfer matt as most time the stress crack is in the skin cote matt in 95 % of the boats puts it back to orginal

What weight do you guys use for that? 1 1/2 oz. too thick?

Thats why I suggested cloth, mat can be to thick sometimes. I guess just grind it a bit more. Or try 3/4 oz, but thats kind of thin.

just grind it for the 1.5 oz

I did just that on my Mako recently, and it turned out looking good... Built high, and ground back down to where it needed to be, then threw in some fairing compound to fill the pinholes.
