i have a vandal with a merc 150 v6 with a jackplate 5 inch set back im running about 71mph and have more but the chine walking comes in at that speed and i have to get off the trim button. Is the vandal hull the same as vipers wondering if i set it up higher if this would take some of the walking out.right now its 1 inch below pad ? how fast could i expect to get this to go stock with low water pickup ?

What prop are you using and what rpms are you seeing at top speed?

Do you have solid mounts and properly adjusted dual cable steering? Also you don't need that much set back. I would use a Bobs convertable jack set up with the least amount of setback.

The vandal and viper are not the same. The viper has a hook in the pad and the vandal has a flat pad.

Thanks, I want mine to ride like yours at top speed. Do you get any chime when you lift the front ? I can feel the speed increase but gets out of control. Is 75-80 mph possible in vandal with 150 merc ?

Ya. You boat is really steady at higher speeds but it is center steer. These boats have been known to go over 90 with v6s but I herd they get really flighty. That's why I'm just going to stick with my v4....
