OMC V8 with 20in Offshore Leg.

I have recently purchased a 1990 4.0L Johnson 300hp V8 with an offshore 20in leg.:smiletest::thumbsup:

I now have the opportunity to purchase a 1985 3.6L Johnson 300hp V8 with an offshore 20in leg.

I am considering purchasing the 3.6L engine as a parts engine. I need to know if the 20in offshore leg is interchangable from the 3.6L to the 4.0L engine and also if any of the electrical components can be shared?

Any help gratefully received.

The mid is interchangeable, but some of the electronics are different. The stator/trigger/power packs are different. The coils/wires/harness are the same. Internally they are the same other than piston size.
