Just curious, the CDM(coils) have different #'s that all start with 827509 with a dash something after them. Is there an actual difference in the cdm itself, or is it just the wire length??

I think some of the CDM have rev limiters to control RPM. Different motors different RPM limit. Wire length will also give another part number.

Some CDM's are multi strike discharge. If you get them confused or installed wrong the motor acts wierd.I know. hf...

I thought this was controlled by the ECU??

That could be the case of motors that have ECU's, but not all motors that use CDM's have ECU's.

Had a fishing motor that had a bad CDM, big miss. Put another CDM off another fishing motor and the motor ran great to 5500 (or something like that) then started to blubber. It used to run good to 6000 (or something like that) and found out it had the wrong CDM installed for that motor. Put the correct part number and it ran fine. That's what I know about CDM's that I can share with you.
