What does your friend intend to use the boat for? The Starflite likes at least 12" of setback. Prop depends on what you want to do with the boat. Trophy Plus and Power Tech TR04 are very popular props for the Starflite.

I've had two and set up a third as well...two with 225 Pro Max, third with 2.4 Bridgeport EFI. PM me with what you need, Pops.

Hope you're well. Long time no talk!

trophy 24 pitch would be almost perfect ,no less than 8 " jackplate.

There is lots of setup info on checkmate-boats.com. I agree with the 24 trophy. Nice all around prop for the boat/motor combo.

The boat will have a MASSAGED Laser injected Mercury 2.5 245. He is a river runner, No tuber,no skier. Just a beer sippin cruiser!! (LOL)
Sending the CLE to Tooter. I have not seen the boat,he just brought the (DEAD) Power head and gear case to me. I will contact you all again when set up time is here.
John good to here from you. I think the Laser Basser is sold. It was a Fun little project. Turned out great!!!

They like 8-12" of setback. Its a pretty bow heavy boat. Here is a link to a list of setups and speed numbers for the Starflite.

Trophy 24 may be too small. I think a Trophy Plus 26 would be the right ticket with a 245hp motor. 10-12" of setback--beef up the transom knees and use backing plates on the setback. The boat should run low to mid 70's all day long..
