Had the same problem many years ago with a customers boat . I put a good bit of pressure on the lifting eye with a cherry picker and called it a day. It was dangling in the cherry picker when I got there in the morning.. I think we did spray some break clean on it but it was 5200. Wish I could be of more help cant wait to see the other replys.

Piano wire behind the clamp, use it as a cutter.

Use heat on the engine bracket(hot air gun) make a heat deflector out of foil and hook it over the transom on each side of the motor so you won't burn the gel. Then after you get it warm (250) wedge a piece of foam in between the hull and engine and trim the engine in. Get some super thin gasket scrapers and tap them between the hull and motor, BE CAREFUL !!!!! dont dig into the Gel.
If it still won't budge I don't know what to tell you.

I have used pine window / door shims as a wedge. They don't harm the gelcoat and are inexpensive.

DeBond Corp. claims that it's DeBond Marine Formula will:
“remove and clean up cured 3M 5200 (polyurethane adhesive sealant) in addition to silicones, caulk and common marine adhesives without damaging the boat or accessory.”

I use to make an indent with a scraper and shoot 2015 and let sit 5 minutes spray a little more and start removing if you wait to long it starts recuring. Rick

I never could understand why some people would put 5200 over the entire contact area of an outboard when only the bolts need it......... that said, the De-Bond or 2015 works well, if the transom is painted wipe off the overspray immediately
Hung up a few days, nothing, used heat gun at lower settings, finally up to 400F and used a super thin/wide paint scraper started to hear sucking noises and stepped away, she popped! Now just have to clean this crap off. Thanks

Glad to hear that heat worked we use a product like 5200 on the F-35 under brackets ect. and sometimes temps up to 1200 degrees are needed to get seperation. On the bright side there is no way you had any leaks with a filet seal that strong.
Most adhesives and sealants weaken when they are heated.
