running a 21 trick single 3 litre engine, 20" shaft w/ a 1.75 sportmaster, engine is set back 6" w/ a bob's hydraulic jackplate,, engine height at its lowest point is even w/ the bottom of the sponsons. tried a 30 et and a 32 cleaver(all 14.5 diameter), boat would not plane off w/ them(boat would start to plane and prop would break loose and the boat would just slow down, w/ rpm going to 5500), we tried for a goof a 17 p vengeance and it planed off, any suggestions as far as props or setup? thanks!!:)

Might want to try a 4 blade over hub prop. I liked the Performance Propeller 4 blade ET style prop
(30P). I had a 300 PM w/1.75 gear. Got on plane fairly well and had good top end. 94 top end. I tried a 34 cleaver once. Had a hell of a time getting it on plane, but it would really go once wound up.

hydromotive 4 blades, or bravos will work.. or even a trophy.

Charlie, I would try a Trophy Plus 26...you may also try lowering the motor 1-2" to get more prop in the water for bite..I have a Tempest Plus 25 Steve could try...

Thanks, put a 28p bravo 1 on it today, seemed to work well but still have a way to go on the break-in, 2.5 hrs on the motor today

Hey Steve, the Bravo 1 was primarily designed for I/O applications. The Trophy Plus 4-blade should work better..

The bravo will work better on that boat, if you start running the prop up where it runs the best you will break the blades on the trophy, the larger barrel on the bravo will hold the rear of the boat up and make it run flatter , more efficient. Also if its hard to come out of the hole put larger vent holes in the hub, and if you want it to run even better cut the flare off of the tube.

The one I have doesn't have vent holes. I have a hydraulic jackplate and if I put it up a few inches it spins the prop just enough to come up well.

The holes might help you when you are loaded.
