What were the differences among the 2.5 200 motors (blocks specifically)? I have an early 90's, a 99 carb and a 98 efi. Are the blocks/ports etc all the same? I am starting to piece together stuff for my build (twins) and need to know what stuff I can use. Have a long ways to go, but don't want to spend money on useless stuff.
Thanks,
Ross

The exhaust chest was better after 95.

ONLY the 200 exhaust changed to the "pro max" style on the 96-up. 2.5 150 EFI and 175's still had the "small" chest as before PLUS...
The 95-back had 1.610 exhaust porting and the 96-99 had 1.595 exahust porting. In 2000 they went to "O" ring heads. The 98 and 99 blocks will be the same. No difference between carb and efi except the EFI run caps on the bleeder elbows near the heads where the carb engine actually uses them. The 96-up also came with the rubber coated 4 pedal reed cages. 96-up had a lot of improvements. just my .02
