Finally my new 2011 Lanier Custom Boat is in the mold. This boat will be built with Carbon Fiber/ Kevlar and epoxy resin, and it will be vaccum bagged. These materials were chosen to make the boat as light as possible and retain great strengh and not compromise the integrity of the build. We will use 1'' corecell on the running surfaces of the boat, and in the tunnel area. 3/4 corecell will be used on the sides and all of the deck area. This boat will be a sistership of Brents (Scawthedogs) Lanier, and will be happy if it runs near as good. Going to try to get pictures of the build, and keep you posted with the weight of all the pieces, and rigging. Hope you all enjoy, Mike..

Lee is the man to go to when you want something built from exotic materials, his work is the cleanest that i have ever seen and he pours his best into every piece. Lee is recovering from a bypass so we are in no hurry. Lee,s raceboat that he built himself from his own design, a stock class boat, holds the kilo record at 121mph. I believe Lee also built some of the A.M.T,S or the Doug Wrights. New member on here Steve Quick is Lee,s partener/driver and they make a great offshore team, and can put their boat in the winners circle any weekend.

Thanks for the kind words. Let's say if the Team was as good as the boat it would be in the Winners Circle every weekend. Lee is THE MAN.

Yup,

Well aware of lee's handywork, he has fixed our fountain a time or 2 after breaking it at the races.

Not sure what he has at the moment. He is at the race in Morehead City. I will check with him and let you know. I always thought the 26 foot race boat he had in the yard would make a great Lake boat. Just about any stock power would get it to 100.

you showed a pic of a small part of the boat bagged with the pump on it. i dont get it. do they do small sections at a time? when i had my boat built they loaded the entire thing with glass and the stringers then bagged it all at the same time....

because Lee is a one man shop it is much easier to bag one section at a time. Everything is overlapped so the inner skin is bonded to the outer and vise vera. It's actually a stronger way to build then conventional vacume bagging.

Don't want to hijack the thread. This is the boat I was talking about. Anyone looking for a project with two motors to hang would have a cool little hot rod cheap. It is LIGHT.

You explained it better than I could have, he told me once, but if I explained it, it would have sounded like he pieced the boat together.
