1991 150hp Mariner

ser. # D056497. Is it chrome or steel. Is the year correct. Looking to buy this core.:eek:

1991 2.4 liter Mariner Magnum 150.
The 2.4 engines were all mostly chrome with exception to the Mercury XR-4 150 which was a steel bore(steel sleeved which was originally intended to be a chrome bore) If this is one of those bass series engines in a Mariner its steel if not it's chrome.

That number comes up as a '91 Mag III. Thats a 2.5, same as xr6...........steel motor.

it should fit...with some wiring differences etc. hose routing for cooling out the back depending on what pans you have/exhaust plate...powerhead gasket surface should all b the same
