Two hole OMC Looper only runs for 3 seconds

Hi, Wondered who out there can tell me what is wrong.
I have a 55E77d Johnson with older model carbs (0315082-04,top/ and 0315082-1 bottom).
The engine won't stay running without gas sprayed into the throat of the upper carb.

It's got the old style 3 hose fuel pump (new)(Sierra 18-7353) and have connected the inside hose (the one closest to the block/fuel out) to the bottom feed fitting of the upper carb, the center hose off the fuel pump (vacuum) to the larger 5/16 fitting on the bottom front of the block, and the 3rd hose, input from the fuel tank, is on the outside hose fitting on the fuel pump.

It was a brand new Sierra coil that was bad.
