A coworker of mine has a Javilin with a 200 Johnson VRO. He say the VRO pump went out. Can the motor be set up to premix and eliminate the VRO pump? Are there drawbacks to doing that to if it's possible?

Thanks

John

yes it can, and the drawback is he is going to have to premix

He already is he said he doesn't trust the pump so I told him why dont we just eliminate it. He said he thinks it pumps fuel too. Can I just put another type of fuel pump on it?

Would one an electric fuel pump work?

If the fuel pump side is working just block the oil inlet and unplug the harness to it,add 50:1 in the tank and you're all set.If the pump is not working a replacement retrofit unit is available with no oil mixing system,an electric pump will work also, regulated to 4-5 lbs/sq.in.

Is there a part number for the retro fit kit?

Is the retro fit kit a common item that the parts guy will know about?

I pulled the VRO unit off of my 1989 GT-200 OMC as soon as I got it. I bought a small 12v electric fule pump from the autoparts store, and just mix the fuel at 40:1. It has been working great for several years.

Cool I will tell him that.
