I've been reading the forums on this site for over a year, and have noticed that some members ask questions, and they receive really nasty answers, or their questions are completely ignored. Is there a general reason for this? Is it because they don't have many posts? Is it because they don't go to any of the functions? Just curious. I'm hoping I'm not treated like this.

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

I'm sorry that you have this perception of how some people are on these forums, but if you've been reading material here for over a year, I'm sure you're well aware of the high standards our members are held to. I take a lot of pride in admitting that we have the best behaved and most informative forums on the Internet. Not only that, but these forums are populated with the best minds in the outboard performance boating community. Yes, an occasional debate will arise, but generally, these forums are cleaner than any other boating forum I've ever seen.

Given the volitile nature of message forums, I would say that we have accomplished a lot here. I could not be more proud of our forum members, and I hope you will eventually feel the same pride of membership and family here that everyone else does.

Regards,
Greg

I do agree with you, and there was no slam intended. In fact, the information obtained here is incredible and I'm glad I have finally become a member. I also intend to become a donating member, even though I know it's not necessary. I've been on many forum sites, and this is by far the most well run - no real bashing, no swearing to speak of, etc.. All I meant was that some guys ask questions, and they either don't get answers or the replys are one or two words. The question was if the "new" people with fewer posts don't usually get complicated answers even though their questions seem to be valid, and require more dialogue than what people give. Then again, maybe it's because nobody knows them personally. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT MEANT TO CRITICIZE. I'm happy to be a member and keep up the good work.:D

If someone gets slammed and they don't respond it usually means the people know each other. I don't know if these are the type of things your seeing or not.

The questions not getting answered could either be the post didn't draw the people who know the answer or they don't know. I've read a few and some that come to mind are OMC stuff. I don't know nuthin on that.

Keep on asking and eventually it gets through though. I think a short answer when a more in depth one is needed is kind of a waste. I guess I go in the other direction, a long answer when a short one would do!

Some do not sleep.....see above.

If I can help I will but I am still very new to the HP outboard game.
