Need help please

I just purchased a 21" Ron Jones tunnel hull and i am already having engine troubles i was told the engine only had 30 hours on it from a complete rebuild it has 1988 200 hp 2.4l mercury out board motor. the motor will not turn any RPM and it just feels flat like its down 1 cylinder not sure! i really would like to make this boat go fast!

I was wondering if there was a good reputable boat shop or person in the winston salem , charlotte NC area that could take a look at it and fix all the problems with the motor for me any help help with this would greatly be appreciated as i am really frusterated !

Danny, you might do yourself a favor if you did a little diagnosis first and tried to narrow the problem. You weren't very specific with the "will not turn any RPM", so we don't have much to go on. You could run a compression test and make sure the compression is okay and uniform across the board, and then hook a timing light up to each cyl individually and check for fire.

You can probably find a ton of help right here with some specifics on your problem. It could be major, or something minor............... just need to narrow it down to mechanical, electrical, fuel, or grossly improper collection of components.
