There is a new restaurant in Merrick called The Sandbar & Grille, formerly JD's, formerly The Cozy Clam. Nice little place, bar, steamers are great. Its located in Merrick bay on the South end of Blue Water Yacht Club (The old Nicks Marina). The owner is looking for some traffic and told me if I put a date together to get some boats, we can work out drink specials, maybe get a band.

Cool. I live right near there too. I have more of an Offshoreonly type of boat but had S.O.B's as a kid and still a huge fan and keep up with this site. Im not a part of the S.O.B. gang that does the GSB/Tanner thing so I dont have contact with those guys. You guys should pick a day and let me know, maybe have someone contact me and we can work out what drink specials you guys would like.

Yes of course dockage is available. I wouldnt post this for boaters and expect us to get there by car lol. Not trying to be a wise ass. They have slips plus if its a Sunday the service place right next door will be closed and there is a long service dock where they launch boats that will be being used.

Let me know a Sunday you guys would like and I will go talk with the owner. Do you want to appoint a "spokesman" to chat with me so we can go over what you guys would like me to negotiate for drinks? How many people, etc? I am a musician so will be picky about the band. Who are they? What do they play? PM me.
