hey i have a dumb ? on a 2.4 carbed moter 200 are the 225 and 250 the same bore for the pistons ? or is it just change the carburaters and thats where they get there horse power from ? if its just changing the carbs what numbers are the 225 and what numbers are the 250 ? thanks johnny any help would be appreciated .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

There wasn't a 2.4 / 250 to my knowledge.
Back then, the 2.4 stock motor was 225hp, rated at the flywheeel, so it was about 200hp at the propshaft. This changed in about 1984, all the ratings went to propshaft ratings. So a 2.4/200 post 1984 and a 2.4/225 pre 1984 are really about the same HP.
The Bridgeport with the gold colored block was 220hp carbed and 240hp EFI.
