I have a 2002 280 and was wondering what temp it should be at idle and at WOT... it reads 120 degrees at idle and 150 degrees ar WOT.Also EGT's are 1000/ seems a little cool.

water temp will vary but the egt's should be higher. What is some info on the engine? any changes to the fuel curve been made?

I would not want the temps to be much higher as you will be approaching the boiling temperature of water. Especially in the higher altitude of Montana. Air bubbles are not good in water jackets.

If your water temperature is changing that much, I would replace the thermostat. That's what we do in our sail boats.

280'S don't have thermostats..... idle they cool down, running they warm up quite a bit. Do you know if you have 5 petal reeds or 7 petal? Have the injectors been flowed & tested? If you have 5 petals and the injectors are in good shape you should be able to move your fuel curve to -2. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Not sure on the reeds. I will check into that and get back to you, thanks
