Cruised about 40 miles up the Suwannee this past weekend. Beautiful ride, boat traffic was minimal. Hart Springs was real nice. Saw quite a few flying Sturgeon and a gent in a Allison that looked an awful lot like Tom Foley's signature picture. Plus a few go fasts parked up at Manatee Springs. Nice outing with the family...... BUT
To the drunk in the Proline, there is absolutely No Way can you run your boat safely as drunk as you were on Sat. I am not a prude, I have had a drink on the water before, maybe even one too many by todays standards but you were blasted. For once, I was actually sorry I didn't see some law enforcement. There were eight or nine passengers in your boat that you chose to put in harms way. It took four of you to muscle your boat back on the trailer after your buddy nearly jack- knifed your trailer backing it down the ramp. When is enough, enough? If a LEO had witnessed 10 seconds of what I saw you would have had a very bad day. I don't know if you make it a habit of getting that polluted or just got caught up in the moment but either way I suggest a multi-step program, before it is too late.

Parker, I don't have a clue. I saw them at Jack's sandbar as I was on my way back to Suwannee town. They tried to get the boat on plane in front of me then I passed and put some distance on them. An hour later I was behind them at the ramp in Suwannee.

I see that at almost every boat ramp I go to, especially in the late afternoon with a full day of drinking. Many times I have had to back their trailer into the water since their motor-skills are so impaired they have the ramp blocked. I had to pull out a boatload of drunks at the Middleburg ramp a couple of weeks back when the drunken driver tried to pull out a 35' cruiser with a 2 WD F150 and just sat on the ramp with the truck covered with NASCAR type tire smoke. One of the drunken females tried to pick a fight with me until she realized I was going to pull him out behind my 4WD.
They wake up the next day remembering nothing, assuming they had a good time.....

An every weekend event up here in CT between Mem. Day and Labor day.
Remember, our drunks up here squeeze a years worth of stupidity into 3 good boating months.
Sorry to here of your troubles.

I saw that crew at the sandbar and they were overserved . From the sound of the speech I heard they were locals . what boat were you in ?

HD, I hear that. No problems, thankfully. I have nearly split my side laughing, while watchin some of them load up at the ramp. It is really just a shot in the dark that he may see my post here. I have heard a tale or two where the LEO's will mess with the go fasts just for being there then you have others that are flagrant about being tore up but skate because they are in a slow boat. Maybe it is a sign, I am growing up. BUI's cost too much, life is fragile, and it only takes a second. Just saying...

1983 20' Wellcraft. I gave a big wave as we passed port to port at Clay's Landing around 4:00.
