I now have a Monty v-8 on a 23 pad vee weighing around 2900 lbs rigged. (everything except fuel.) I am curious how much difference would the performance (top speed, accelleration, fuel economy) be between the merc 300xs, the etec 250HO, and my Monty stage 2 v-8. Long boat trip this weekend prompted some thoughts about what performance options I might have. My current boat will run mid to high 70's with a best of 80. The motor runs great, just a little thirsty. I know that there will be some strong opinons on this so have fun and tell me what you think.
