We Are Going To Florida!!

Planned on waiting till Winter set in here in Ohio, but could'nt wait!
My girl and I are leaving Cols, On Friday Nov 1st and driving down.
We have a condo reserved in Fort Myers Beach with a dock on a lagoon in its back yar, and beach on the Gulf across ther street.
Am working on having a rent a beater there for the week;)
Anybody in that area or that can be for a visit durring the week of the 2nd through the 9th, let me know.
We will be heading out Sat A.M. the 9th for the trip home.
Got no stinkin money but I've still got charge cards that have'nt blown up yet, and I needed a way to celebrate getting a job!!

I'll ask a frined of mine. He has a 13 Whaler with a old late 70's 35HP tiller motor.. His fishing boat.. He mainly does flats fishing..

He just walked in as I was typing.. He says that he can go from the ramp to Rabbit keys on 6 gals.. Well that works out to 18 Statute Miles on the map. That is running wide open all the way loaded with camping gear and two people.

Here is our schedule right now (pretty firm)
Got pixs from the guy on the Whaler and sending him a check tomorrow.
He is in Palm City so right now our plans are to leave Columbus at the butt crack of dawn on Friday the 1st.
Make a stop in Atlanta to see a certain somebody's collection of Merc race motors and boats, get back on the road in time to be in the Plam city area by Friday night.
We'll get a room there to spend the night and hang out with my buddy the "Lloydster" (you're probably reading this so I don't need to call you again right;) ).
Get up sat and finish the Whaler transaction then haul ass for the West coast!
Hope to be there by mid day Sat.
Not sure if anyone in the other 2 units will have boats there or not (can find out) but last time we were there (2 yrs ago) it had about 100' of dock.
At low tide one end is shallow (never did figure out the damn tide when I was there :D ), about a foot as I remember.
the rest is 2' to 3' at low tide.
We will be there until Sat A.M. first thing, and then head North.
Donna has to fly out of Cols Mon A.M. and I to Virgina for training.
Lets have a party guys!
The beach is across the street and through a hotel parking lot from the condo. It is gorgeous there!
There is probably a 1/2 mile of sand just to get to the water!
We were taking thermos's full of Marhgaritta'swith us :eek:

hahahaha oh man get this...........ive lived here in florida since 72 and i just looked up ft meyers hahahaha sheeeeez i thought it was down by jupiter hahahaha **** it's on the west coast hahahaha waaaaaaay down there, and i used to drive there to punta gorda in a semi and still was thinking it was over on the east coast hahahah holy crap i'm lost in my own little world hehehe :rolleyes:

Oh Gary, I bought that little car for Rachel. Sorry dude, it was a really good deal, actually better!! They dropped the price another $400 and I drove it 250 miles so far...needed a battery and a radiator.

bull, we try to go every year, even went one year in August to see what it was like. I love it there, Dec, Jan, Feb (left the day before my birthday one year) Apr, May and Aug....so I have a few more months to do. Nov would be cool for the offshore races.... New Year's there is a hoot. I took the girls downtown last year--they are older and could handle some of the indulgencies ok. Lots of beads action. But other than that, a ton of fun.

LT, yup, I'm very fortunate. Faye and I are a very good match. She is very pretty and I'm going to catch **** from some of the guys here I'm sure. I wasn't looking for a Faye, but when you find one, life is good! She's a therapist too, so we have a fair amount in common. Actually we worked for the same agency--the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center-- and even did group therapy with the same co-leader!

Amazingly, it has a 35 HP RevinRude on it already :D, and a stainless steel prop!
I'm takin shim sticks to raise the motor, my favorite prop hammer, and a dixie cup to glue on the front of the l/u for a nose cone:p
Figure I should get 30.5 - 30.75 MPH's after the mods :D

What a trip this is going to be for me the total O/B geek/gear head!!
Have had and accepted wonderfull offers from Raceman to stop and see some of the amazing Merc Racing history that he has hidden away and preserved in Atlanta (can't wait, and yes I'm taking a camera) (been wanting to go see him for years),
got a place to stay with Action17 (thank you Bobby!) Friday night when we blow through his area.
Hoping he has some history to show, and I know some awesome stories of when his dad and Monty were racing and rasin hell together!!
Pretty sure we will get to see Lloydster Sat a.m. when we pick up the Whaler which is only 15 minutes from his house.
This is proof of what this website can do!!!
