JSR - After the sale service.
A big thanks to Jay Smith for great service and support. One of my JSR built 2.5 EFI offshore motors was having difficulty idling and I tried all the basic knowledge like fuel, spark, compression & grounds. Checked the fuel pressure and all was OK. Swapped out the brains and injectors with still no luck. I even brought the boat to an area Mercury specialist and still scratching our heads = (time, frustration & money). OK must be a bad internal seal causing loss of vacuum = no idle.
Called Jay and he said don’t touch anything. So I shipped the power head down to Jay and within minutes after receiving he found the issues. Ran the motor for a good while to make sure and all looked and sounded good. “No charge for his work and time.”
After re-install, the motor runs great and now matches the other JSR 2.5 in performance.
Lesson learned for me and anyone else thinking about using JSR is after any service is done, what comes after the sale. Jay is a stand up guy, he supports you and the work he’s done.
