I'm trying to find out the year of this engine. The boat is a 1996 and the owner told me that the engine was around the same year. All that I can read on the serial # is 245135. I know that there should be an OD or OB or something in front of the numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 213118 This is a 200, 2.5 liter.

You can verify that year by looking behind the trigger (timing) arm on the rear case half #2 cylinder area. You may need to scuff with some sand paper to help it show. You should see the date stamped in the block.

Not knowing where you got the serial number from. It's possible you have a power head and mid section that is mis - matched. Glad you have a newer power head than what the serial number reads !!!!
