View Full Version : Alabama Hot Boat Club Now Taking Members
anyone interested in racing in alabama next year we are forming a new club/race organization. we havent come up with a name for the club as of yet,, it use to be called the adba (alabama drag boat assc.). there are several race sites being checked on now as well as a hot boat festival site,, kinda like firewater/rumble/byuboyz finale... there are alot of hi-performance boats in alabama, northern fla,, eastern ga, western ms, and souther tn. that are also welcome as well as anyone else interested. nothing has been put in concrete as of yet,, a rough draft letter is being typed up now and will be sent to anyone who is interested in reviewing the letter and make changes and comments to how they would like the club to be run,, where races will be held,, what classes should be formed,, how the rules will be laid out,, i have talked to several people from huntsville to mobile and we now have the support and personal to back up such a club and race sites. there are alot of boats in alabama alone to have some great fun on the water,, some great racing and a big hot boat festival somewhere in central alabama or anywhere that will support such a great event.. we want boaters of all kinds,,, guys that would like a chance to get out on the water and see what there boat will do,, a chance to have a class for everyone and that everyone can afford to do... if your interested e-mail me your name/address and phone # so you can be a part of the great events to come in the future... this year is almost over with,, spring will be here before you know it so lets get this rolling now and have some fun on alabam's great waterways.
that should be eastern ms and western ga,, i know someone will pick up on this so im correcting it now,, i think i got southern tn. and northern fla correct. lets get ready to have some fun..

Chris, good luck with your new Hot Boat Club. There are indeed a bunch of great hot boaters over in your area that need a good place/organization to get started in boat racing at the regional level. While the social aspects of the events are what brings in the members intitially, the fair class structures and correct interpretation of the rules is what keep members happy and coming back.
Just as we have done in the past with the By-U-Boyz events, ODBA will be happy to support your new organization in any way we can. Don't hesitate to ask, we'll be there.
Good Luck!

you guys have done a great job promoting the odba races,, jasper shows that. although i didnt get a chance to race this past year i made 3 races.. next year i will be able to race instead of sitting on the bank.. i just think there are alot of hot boaters missing out on the fun,, i know there are alot of reasons for that but on the other hand a smaller regional club will allow for the guys to come out 4 or 5 times next year and mabye get a chance to race and be involved with a club/organization.. no one wants to see this sport die and with the help of the odba and the new alabama hot boat club ( or whatever name we come up with) i think we can attract more racers to come out and be a part of racing. we will have a hot boat festival kinda like firewater or the byuboyz rally next year somewhere in central alabama,, we are trying to form the club as we speak,, and any help from the odba or anyone willing to help will be appreciated.. good luck to all the racers and hot boaters next year and lets get started,, this year is almost over,,, oh did i hear it right,, you guys (odba) are making the lake havasu trip next march,, the guys out west are in for an awakening....

Chris did you say lake havasu. Its hard enough to get odba racers to come to Texas. Add another 1000 miles 8 days off work. To much for me. Hope you do well with your club.

Man I thought I knew about HEAT then I went to a ALABAMA race ( the Charles Hoven Memorial). You folks live in HELL . You know your in hell when people bring generators and BIG fans(these were home boy spectators). I remember they had to stop the race because the three ambulances were taking people away with heat stroke, none left at the race site. But I'll come again Jesel@comcast.net
