Hey guys,
I just repowered my skater 21 with a 2005 280 offshore.
The boat has the original hynautic dual ram steering, and I would really like to keep it.
The problem is, the wing plate off of my 260 has 5 mounting stud holes and the 280 has 4. Also I think the 280 needs a wider plate so the heim ends will clear the lower pan.
Any one done this. This is the only thing I'm lacking to try out my new motor!!!
Please, any one help?
Thanks,
jd

Re Drill The Plate And Mount It On The Under Side Of The Mid Not The Top ,,This Way U Wont See The Other Holes In The Plate And It Will Give U Enough Clearance For The Pan

Lightspeed,
I checked that out. The corners have to be cut/ground off as the old plate won't snug up to my exhaust plate then two of the original bolt holes halfway overlap the old holes. I could probably weld up the old holes and redrill them though. Hve to see if I can find some stainless rods.
Thanks for the212853 reply.
