i saw this on ebay. anyone ever try this? does it work at high speeds, analyzing the water travel with fluid mechanics proves that the water that dosent have to make any bends through piping gives better water volume.
plus seems like an easy install.
thanks

NO NO NO. You don't want anything down there that can come off. It's made out of plastic and at a hundred bucks no less.

...on the board? Seems like an interesting product. A little skeptical of the plastic and mounting though. Does anybody have any real experience?
Thanks,

I can get them for a bit less if anyone has any interest. It can be swapped from motor to motor in a matter of minutes.

XTB21 - Were there any performance improvements?
Rickracer - how much do you sell it for? Are your customers typically happy with it? Do you ship to Canada?

Looks like it would cause some turbulence in front of the prop. I would not trust it Especially if it came off at over 80mph, it might not be pretty.

Does the description sound like a Ronco ad or what????
"With this Nosecone, you can run your outboard motor or motors higher in the water, reduce drag, increase speed, use less fuel and improve boating pleasure. With the Porta Nosecone you will enjoy your boat more, go fishing in shallower water, catch more fish, be a better fisherman."
How could anybody turn down a product that would make them a better fisherman, and faster, with less fuel, and more pleasure at the same time???????
Me an Bubba are gonna pass on this one.

That was from Stainless Marine, and it was requested. They no longer handle them. The company that was making them for Stainless was Porta Products, and that's the source for them now. I can do them for $122 each + shipping. As far as how well they work, I have no credible evidence either way. I do know that Ron Pratt has some practical experience with them, perhaps you might want to email him and see what he has to say about them.
